Hello again, readers!
For the purposes of an assignment for my AQ course, I have created a Prezi presentation that showcases my mission statement for creating an effective learning environment in a mathematics classroom. As part of the assignment, I have included a focus on creating an environment that is effective for students with Learning Disabilities to thrive in. In the prezi, you will find many helpful strategies that I personally use as an occasional teacher and some that I plan to use in my future classroom.
Check it out! http://prezi.com/vehwskdpmpoq/?utm_campaign=share&utm_medium=copy

Welcome!
Hello and Welcome to Math with Miss Wilson!
This blog has been created as an assignment through a Mathematics AQ course. In this blog, you will find information regarding the new generation of Mathematics teaching and learning. I plan on referring back to this blog in the future when I will be planning math lessons for my own classroom. I will also make use of the teaching strategies and skills that I will gain through this course in my occasional teaching in the new school year. I hope it will inspire you to plan your Mathematics programming around the new ideas that are changing the way Math is being taught to our young learners across Ontario.
To navigate the blog, simply click on a page of interest to you. Below is a description of those pages:
In the What's the Big Idea page, you will find information regarding using Big Ideas in Math and the theory behind them.
The Three-Part Lesson page will describe the importance of structuring your Math lessons to engage your students and foster inquiry learning and wonder.
The Planning, Planning, Planning page is all about planning - daily, unit, long-range and cross-curricular.
Happy Teaching! :)
